Pull Up a Chair and Stay a While!

Hello, and welcome to my Home Page. If you were actually here in person, my website visitor, I'd invite you to join me for a cup of coffee or perhaps a glass of cold lemonade or ice tea. But, of course, we can't quite do that on our computers, can we? (Yet.)

Photo of author Julie MalearStill, we can communicate. I'm right here in the USA — South Florida to be exact. All it takes is the touch of a computer key and I can appear on the screen of your desktop, whether it's right next door or as far away as New Zealand. You can even drop me an e-mail if you wish.

Perhaps you have joined me for a while because you are a reader and you're curious as to what books I've written. Or perhaps what discipline I have when it comes to writing. Well, I like to write at night when the phone is quieter. To me, it's faster and easier. When I'm working on a deadline, I sometimes work as late as 5 a.m. without feeling tired. I have to admit, however, that if I'd been given my preference, I'd have chosen to be a morning person. It seems our society is geared to fit the larks of the world.

Maybe you're a writer, too, and, like me, you enjoy visiting the web sites of other authors to learn about their lives and how they began to write. (If you want to know why I started to write, click here for my bio.)

If by some chance, you are a beginning writer, there's one piece of advice I want to share. Never give up. It may well be the secret to being published. Good luck!
